The Empty Crib | Victorian Mourning Book
Description
The Empty Crib | Victorian Mourning Book"The Empty Crib" was one of the most popular examples of "consolation literature" during the Victorian era. Written in 1868 by Reverend Theo L. Cuyler, this book is a memorial to his little son George, one of twins, and offers comfort to other bereaved parents. The cover design is especially heartbroken: It depicts the empty crib of the title. Some wear to the cover boards and tiny chip to the bottom of the spine. Otherwise good.
